Using artificial intelligence to protect natural resources in the ADRION region

This project is supported by Interreg IPA ADRION program, within Interreg funds (European Regional Development Fund and IPA III).
AINATURE will focus on using artificial intelligence tools and modern technologies, based on open sources, together with data collected from citizens through a special mobile application, for the early detection and monitoring of two main challenges facing ADRION countries:

Surface water pollution and flood monitoring systems,

This component of the project deals with protection of rivers, lakes and coastal waters in the ADRION region (which includes countries around the Adriatic and Ionian Seas — Greece, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania and Serbia).

Forest fires and floods

Forest fires and floods are among the most common and dangerous natural phenomena affecting the countries of the ADRION region. Climate change, rising temperatures and longer dry periods contribute to an increase in the risk of fires, while extreme rainfall and inadequate infrastructure lead to frequent floods.
